Description of Work:
"Between A Forest and A Sea" is part of the eighth exhibit of the No. 3 Road Art Columns entitled "Locally Examined."
Locally Examined presents imagery that offers viewers an opportunity to consider West Coast textures and the fragile natural landscapes that exist in Richmond. Artists Amanda Arcuri, Grayson Richards and Adam Stenhouse responded by visiting and researching important natural hertiage sites with the assistance of Lesley Douglas, Manager of Environmental Sustainability and Bill Purver, retired Richmond Archivist.
"Between A Forest and A Sea" considers Richmond's geographical position between the forests of the West Coast and the water of the Salish Sea and Pacific Ocean. These vast expanses of wood and water have influenced the culture and history of the region as well as influencing its future.
