Description of Work:
Two formed steel arches span a circular, concrete base. The arches are joined together by a steel plane and webbing that forms an abstracted cauldron shape at its highest point. The plane is cut through with a series of stars, which open the arc to the sky beyond and touch the visitor with light and shadow below.

Artist Statement:
The design of the Richmond Olympic Experience translates the energy and excitement of the Olympic Games through exhibits that engage visitors emotionally, physically and experientially through the primary theme: “In sport, as in life, the pursuit of a dream is a journey of transformation.”
As part of the exterior experience, a symbolic torch route encircles the building with a series of stops representing the different regions of Canada.
