Description of Work:
"StoreFront, objects of desire" consisted of a window display in store #960 in the Lansdowne Shopping Centre plus four public interventions in the Centre. Garments were created from fresh and dried plant materials and displayed in the four windows. Vinyl lettering was applied to the windows to mimic a real store and the logo was added to signage throughout the Centre.
My focus as an artist is to examine the ephemeral in nature as it correlates to the human condition. The "StoreFront, objects of desire" project is based on my Weedrobes series, where garments are made from natural materials such as leaves and flowers. The intent of this project is to engender a positive outlook on the environment through the use of organic materials that simulate the world of fashion and retail.
