Description of Work:
The Artwork consists of three sculptures, set in a landscaped plaza. One sculpture is a Corten metal piece, with plasma cut details, another is a concrete sculpture, with horizontal reveals, and a third is of wood (glulam), consisting of four vertical pieces.
Artist Statement:
In contrast to the demands of habitation and construction logic of the buildings that surround it, tango proposes deceptively simple sculptural gestures. Standing among the towers lining Minoru Boulevard the pieces of tango are locked in an intimate dance against the imperative to standardize our built environment.
