Description of Work:
"4Cs", four backlit panels installed at Brighouse Station as part of the Necklace Public Art Works. The panels were designed to be visible to drivers, slowed in No #3 Road traffic; the camouflage pattern with the Richmond images is designed for foot traffic. The colours used are for everyone’s enjoyment and pleasure, including the artists.
4Cs creates the four words on the ‘postcard panels’ from vernacular and terminology associated with diamonds as a commercial enterprise: CUT, COLOUR, CARAT, CLARITY. The title is also a ‘texting’ acronym of the word foresees – to anticipate. Created for the background is a non-repeating ‘diamond pattern’, or harlequin pattern which creates a camouflage for the images contained within the overall pattern.
