Description of Work:
Consisting of columns with LED lights in the shape of skate blades. The patterns in the sidewalk concrete imitate the patterns of long track speed skating on ice.

Artist Statement:
Ice Blade asserts a stance similar to a position taken by a speed skater at the starting line. The sculpture's glass panels mirror the adjacent landscape and diffract ambient light sources. The sun's daily passage creates a dynamic incidence of light responses for the viewer passing the shifting blade alignments.
