Description of Work:
An outdoor mural located along the south side of Maple Lane School, adjacent to the entrance. The wall is highly visible and it is publicly accessible from multiple access points.
Artist Statement:
“Our Friends the Trees” is a mural on two exterior walls of the gymnasium wing of Maple Lane Elementary School in Richmond, British Columbia. It depicts cedar, fir, alder and maple trees as well as other native plants and animals using a rainbow of primary and secondary colours in soft gradients. The trees are life sized though the colours are fanciful.
