Description of Work:
The brightly coloured mural is intended to add colour and identity to the Hayer Demolition Site.
It is approx. 7 ft. tall (3 blocks high) and approx. 100 ft. long. It is a straight wall and wraps
around one corner, which is the entrance to the site. It does not extend the full length of the
frontage of the business.

Artist Statement:
Reading from Right to Left, the mural describes the origins of Mitchell Island from when it was
underwater to mineral deposition over time as the
Fraser River meanders through the delta. In the case of Hayer Demolition, the business
functions to deconstruct materials and recycle building materials to become resources once
again.
