In response to the question posed in the title of her presentation, Rebecca Belmore quips, “I will go take a look and we can talk about it when I see you.”

You are invited to join us on this inquisitive journey with the internationally recognized multidisciplinary artist and member of the Lac Seul First Nation (Anishinaabe). Rooted in the political and social realities of Indigenous communities, Rebecca Belmore’s works make evocative connections between bodies, land and language. Her solo exhibitions include Facing the Monumental, Art Gallery of Ontario (2018); KWE: Photography, Sculpture, Video and Performance by Rebecca Belmore, Justina M. Barnicke Gallery (2014); and The Named and The Unnamed, Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery, (2002). Most recently, in 2019, Belmore took part in the Istanbul Biennial with Body of Water. In 2017, Belmore participated in documenta 14 with Biinjiya’iing Onji (From Inside) in Athens, Greece and Kassel, Germany. In 2005, at the Venice Biennale, she exhibited Fountain in the Canadian Pavilion.
