Councillor Ken JohnstonKen Johnston, a Richmond resident since 1976, was first elected to Richmond City Council in 1993 and served until 2001. From 2001 to 2005, he served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of BC representing the provincial riding of Vancouver-Fraserview. On November 15, 2008, Ken was again elected to Richmond City Council.
A Chartered Professional Accountant / Certified General Accountant, Ken is past President of Novex Delivery Solutions, a Richmond-based delivery company serving the lower mainland.
Ken is Vice Chair of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Committee and a member of the General Purposes, Finance, and Community Safety Committee. He is also the Council representative to the following advisory committees, organizations and community associations: Aquatics Services Board, E-Comm (alternate), Minoru Major Facility Stakeholder Advisory Committee, Museum Society Board, Seniors Advisory Committee and the West Richmond Community Association.
Ken is an avid Senior Soccer Player and Youth Soccer referee and past Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Vancouver.
