Hit the dirt with Richmond’s Earth Week activities

15 April 2021

As part of Earth Week (April 17-25), the City of Richmond is promoting sustainability initiatives within the city and encouraging residents to get involved in their own neighbourhoods.

The City of Richmond, local businesses, schools and community groups have planned the following ways to participate, with all details found at www.richmond.ca/parksprograms:

  • Come and get your hands dirty helping to remove invasive specifies from a local park – all in a COVID-friendly way.
  • Discover local wildlife and learn about Richmond’s unique ecology at the Richmond Nature Park Society’s virtual Earth Day illustrations and story time.
  • Join the local clean-up challenge and watch for the social media awareness campaign led by the East Richmond Community Association aimed at Net-Zero waste activities.
  • Participate in the City Nature Challenge (April-May 3), which encourages people around the world to find and document wildlife in their city. Register for a free webinar event to learn more.
