We are celebrating Halloween big this year with over 15 events across Richmond. Put on your favourite costume and bring your family to the Richmond Nature Park October 25 and 26 and become part of Wild Things, a theatrical experience that ties together nature, wildlife and Halloween. Love fireworks? Look for spectacular displays throughout the city on October 31!

Lantern Festival | October 17
A magical evening of free, family fun
Come and build a lantern, play mini games and have a balloon creation made by a balloon twister. Don't stop there! We've got face painting, a drum circle and a lantern procession around the park. Bring your own lantern, or proudly show off the one you made. This event is held at West Richmond Community Centre from 6:00 to 7:30pm, rain or shine!

Vote for your favourite banner design
Have your say in the 2019 Banner Contest by "liking" your favourite submission on the City's Facebook page from October 18 to 31. Up to 20 semi-final designs will be by selected by a panel of volunteer, community judges. The top 10 most-liked designs will be selected as this year's winners and will be displayed as street banners from late February 2020 to February 2021. Mark your calendars and vote!

Learn more about mental health through programs offered at the Richmond Public Library during Mental Health Awareness Week.  Join us on October 10 from 7:00 to 8:30pm to discover how music can be used as a powerful tool to improve your emotional, physical and spiritual health. On October 11, 1:00 to 2:30pm learn how to manage health concerns such as anxiety and depression.
