Official Community Plan (2041) Update - Transportation

Bus with Bike on RackWhat is your vision of the City of Richmond's transportation system in 2041?

The City of Richmond is updating its Official Community Plan (OCP) to enable the City to better manage social, environmental and economic changes. The elements of our transportation system and how they work together will be key factors in achieving a sustainable community.

New Online Web-Based Discussion Forum
Let's Talk Richmond ButtonAs part of the OCP consultation process, the City has introduced a new interactive online discussion forum to make it easier for people to discuss OCP topics of interest to them.

For six weeks starting in July 2010, the discussion forum will include the following transportation topics:

  • What would get you on your bike?
  • How can we make taking transit easier for you?
  • What else is needed to help you get out of your car?

A transportation survey is also online and can be accessed via the following link: Transportation Survey.

These discussion topics reflect the feedback received during the first round of consultation in November 2009.  This feedback indicated a desire for improved transit service and more bike routes as incentives for residents to use their vehicles less.  Accordingly, the transportation questions are intended to elicit your thoughts as to where new and/or improved transit service is needed and where new bike routes are needed as well as other transportation improvements.  The discussion forum allows you to enter your own thoughts as well as respond to comments from other participants.

Thank you for your feedback.  For more information on the City's OCP (2041) Update process, please visit the Official Community Plan (2041) Update.
