What to Recycle

With this new food scraps program, residents who now receive yard trimmings collection can recycle even more!

 Yes!  Add these items:
Fruit_Veg  Fruits and vegetables (e.g.  potatoes, corn cobs & husks)        Eggs  Egg and dairy products (e.g. cheese)
Bread and Pasta  Bread, pasta, rice & noodles (e.g. flour or grain products) Pizza  boxes (e.g. pizza delivery, cereal or cracker boxes)
Coffee Filter  Coffee grounds, filters and tea bags Paper Towel  Paper towels, paper napkins and paper plates
Table Scraps  Table scraps and food scrapings Yard Trimmings  Yard trimmings (leaves, grass clippings, flowers & plants)
Meat  Meat, poutry, fish, shellfish and bones

No!  Do not include these items in your Green Can.  You may place these items in your regular gabage or recycling instead.
 Cereal and crackers liner
Chips and cookie bags
Coffee cups
 Cork or Styrofoam cups, meat trays, plates or take-out containers
 Dental floss
 Diapers, baby wipes
 Dirt, rocks or sod
 Garden hoses
 Glass, metal and plastic or foil (e.g. foil wrap, pouches and pie plates)
 Grease or liquids
 Make-up remover pads, cotton swabs & balls
 Paper cartons or take-out containers
 Pet feces or kitty litter
 Plastic bags and biodegradable plastics
 Plastic wrap and plastic take-out containers
 Prunings thicker than 4 inch (10 cm) in diameter
 Scrap lumber or sawdust
 Vacuum contents and bags
