Community Outreach
To promote and educate on waste reduction and recycling, we participate in a number of community outreach activities:
Waste Reduction and Recycling DisplayIncludes tips on how to incorporate waste reduction and recycling into all aspects of daily life. This display includes activities for children and adults to demonstrate how fun reducing, re-using and recycling can be.

The following activity kits are available to groups:

Learn the type of beverage containers which are on deposit-refund system and how much is the deposit. - Composting
Learn how to compost and the benefits of composting. - Eco (Reusable/Litterless) Lunch Kit
Learn how to pack an eco-friendly or reusable or litterless lunch. - Ecological Footprint
Learn what an Ecological Footprint is and find out how big your Ecological Footprint is. - Environmentally-Friendly Packaging
Learn what is packaging; what can be reused or recycled; and how to reduce packaging when shopping. - Natural Homee and Garden Care
Learn what causes pollution and how it affects us. - Reuse
Learn how to reuse items which will be recycled or landfilled. - Recycling
Learn how to manage your household waste. - Waste Reduction
Learn the 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and what happens to the recyclable.

Environmental Sustainability Workshops
Workshops on reducing pesticides use and creating a more sustainable community are held from January to November. They are part of the City's enhanced pesticide management program, sustainability, waste reduction and water conservation initiatives.
