Agriculture (AG) Zone Setback

Planning Committee of City Council has directed staff to review the setback requirement for accessory residential buildings and structures in the Agriculture (AG) zone of Richmond Zoning Bylaw 8500.

In doing so, City staff were told to consult with the Agricultural Advisory Committee and to hold an open house for the public, property owners, tenants and leaseholders or Agriculture (AG) zoned land to provide their input.

The public open house was held on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm (with a City Staff presentation at 7:00 pm) at the Cambie Secondary School Atrium at 4151 Jacombs Road in Richmond.

The results of this feedback and recommendations of City staff was presented to Planning Committee on September 28, 2010 and to Council on October 12, 2010.

Richmond Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw 8609, to return to the previous regulatory framework of Zoning Bylaw 5300 which has no setback limitations from a constructed public road for accessory residential buildings, structures and septic fields in the Agriculture (AG) zone (Option 1), is scheduled to be considered at the November 15, 2010 Public Hearing.
