Crime Stoppers
![]() |
Crime Stoppers is a non-profit program relying on co-operation between the Police, news media and the citizens of the communities.
Crime Stoppers encourages people to call the Police with information to solve serious crimes already committed, those about to occur and/or the whereabouts of wanted persons.
If your information fits this criteria and leads to an arrest, Crime Stoppers offers you a method in which you can pass this information on to the Police and YOU NEVER HAVE TO REVEAL YOUR IDENTITY!
At the same time, you will be eligible for a CASH REWARD also paid anonymously.
Rewards of up to $2,000 are paid for information leading to the arrest of any person(s) responsible for any unsolved crimes in the Lower Mainland.
Anonimity GuaranteedWhen you call 669-TIPS (669-8477), you will be assigned a special code number which will identify you in all future dealings with Crime Stoppers personnel.
- Your call will not be traced nor recorded.
- You will not be pressured to testify.
- No one will know who you are!
Unlike other reward programs which stipulate "arrest and conviction" Crime Stoppers pays upon ARREST only. Your waiting time for the pay-out is drastically reduced. Your reward will be passed onto you after proper identification by code number, at a pre-arranged location. The Police will not be involved in this process.
Who Operates Crime Stoppers?
A group of concerned citizens comprise the Board of Directors. The reward fund is not tax dollars, but rather monies solicited from the private sector by Board members. It is the Board's duty to administer absolute control over the fund and payments thereof. Since Crime Stoppers is incorporated as a charitable organization, all donations are tax-exempt.
Each week an unsolved crime will be featured on television, radio, and in the newspaper. Information received which results in an arrest can earn the caller a reward of up to $2,000.
A good description will help the Police apprehend a suspect!
