Victim/Witness Services

RCMP Horse and Rider
Richmond RCMP Victim/Witness Services: 604-270-6229

Victims of Crime
Victims often experience physical injury, financial loss, and emotional trauma. Often, their sense of shock at becoming a crime victim is followed by feelings of anger, fear, frustration and vulnerability. In addition, the processes of the Criminal Justice System may seem bewildering, adding to the victim's stress.

In recognition of the needs of victims of crime and of their rights to information and to fair and sensitive treatment, a Victim/Witness Services Program is offered by the Richmond RCMP Community Policing Section.

The Program functions to ensure that victims can receive the support, information, and practical assistance they need to report crimes, to recover from the effects of being victimized, to prevent revictimization and to participate fully in the justice process.

The Program is staffed by trained volunteer members of your community who work with the Police to provide the services listed below.
