Our Mandate & Services
Richmond Fire-Rescue responds to the following types of calls:
- fire and fire alarms
- medical emergencies
- motor vehicle incidents
- hazardous materials
- water, confinedspace, crane, and tower rescues
- public service calls
Richmond has a reciprocal emergency response relationship with its bordering neighbours, the cities of Vancouver, Delta and New Westminster. Richmond provides backup services to the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) – airside operations.
Services are delivered from seven fire halls on a twenty-four hour, seven days a week basis. The Department employs over 200 fire personnel.
