Terra Nova Highlights

The Terra Nova area is home to two significant ecological park sites, the Terra Nova Natural Area and the Terra Nova Rural Park (currently under construction/development).

Terra Nova Natural AreaTerra Nova Natural Area
This old-field habitat is situated adjacent to the West Dyke Trail and Sturgeon Banks, and is easily accessible from both the trail and the west-end of Westminster Hwy. Featuring native plantings, viewing platforms, pathways and a slough, this site provides habitat and food to a variety of wildlife including raptors, herons and migrating birds.

Terra Nova Rural Parkterra nova rural park fall 2005
This significant, developing park is located in the northwest corner of the main island of Richmond with excellent views of the mountains, Vancouver International Airport, Sturgeon Banks, tidal flats, river and wildlife. Phase 1 construction of this new park began in early 2005 and will continue through 2006.
