16th Annual Aquatic Fitness Challenge
Richmond Aquatics Fitness Challenge is an annual event designed to encourage regular physical activity and fun competition through participation in activities for an average of 2.5 times weekly over 3 months. Learn more about the Aquatic Fitness Challenge.

Facilities
Richmond's Aquatainment Centre
This facility is part of the Riverport Sports and Entertainment Complex and has easy access off of Highway 99 via exit 32, Steveston Highway east.
Watermania offers a complete aquatic and fitness experience all under one roof.
Facility features include:
- 57 metre competition pool with movable bulkhead
- 1 and 3 metre spring boards, plus 5 metre tower
- wave pool with interactive water play features
- 2 exciting waterslides
- steam room and sauna
- 2 large whirlpools
- 3,000 square foot Fitness centre equipped with cardiovascular, strength and toning machines, as well as free weights
- 2 air-conditioned multipurpose rooms, with a wood sprung floor, available for fitness classes, birthday parties, meetings and room rentals
The facility provides both family and disabled change rooms and is fully wheelchair accessible.
Included within the facility are the Watermania Sports Therapy Clinic (Phone: 604-448-9616), the Swim & Fitness Shop (Phone: 604-277-1260) and the Surfside Galley concession.
Watermania is a BCRPA Facility Excellence Award Winner and has been voted Richmond’s best family amusement centre.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - RE: Waterslides
Due to safety codes and manufacturer's requirements, only "single riders" are permitted in any one waterslides flume.
Parent and child "double riding" is not permitted. Please note children must be 7 years of age or older and 1.2 metres tall to ride on the Watermania waterslides.
NEW! Watermania Play Structure
An exciting new play structure, with a variety of animated water features, was recently installed at Watermania! The play features include a large seahorse that pours water into a giant tipping bucket, a fun tot slide and a variety of interactive sprayers and water wheels. A giant octopus wrapped around the large nautical mast and a clown fish atop the play structure add to the fun and colourful appeal that now exists with this new addition to the wave pool.

Joint Replacement Programs
Watermania offers registered pre and post operative programs for individuals having knee or hip replacements. There is a continual intake of participants, so you can join at any time. You will be required to complete the following consent form prior to joining any of the Joint Replacement programs described below.
Joint Replacement Program Consent Form
Joint Replacement - Pre-Op
Developed in partnership with Richmond Health Services, this land and water-based exercise program helps to increase the surgical optimization of joint replacement candidates. Gentle exercises are performed both on land and in a supportive and restorative aquatic environment.
Mondays and Thursdays 1:40 - 2:45 p.m.
Joint Replacement Recovery (JR2) Level 1
This post-operative recovery program helps patients improve range of motion and muscular strength following total hip or knee replacement. The program includes land and water based exercise. Clients are able to take part in either or both of these options. Progression to the weight room is added once more intensive activity is recommended. Physiotherapist referral is usually required.
Mondays and Thursdays 1:00 - 2:15 p.m.
Joint Replacement Recovery (JR2) Level 2
For graduates of JR2. This joint replacement post-rehab program begins in the fitness centre using stationary bikes and weight machines for the first half of the class, then joins with the JR2 level 1 group for water exercise.
