Preschool and Two's Time Open House
Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Parent information sessions will be offered at 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. 
Pre-registration request forms for current participants and siblings of past participants are available February 6 - February 20.

Registration Procedure for Two's Time 2012/2013 School Year
Public registration is by lottery. Lottery request forms are available at the Centre starting February 6, 2012. All lottery requests must be returned by March 2, 2012. For more information, please call 604-238-8080.

Registration for the 2012/2013 School Year
General registration for all preschools is Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at  Steveston Community Centre.

Preschools at Richmond community facilities are designed to develop the whole child intellectually, socially, physically, emotionally and cognitively. A positive and encouraging learning environment is provided where children of various cultures and backgrounds share and learn about each other.

The preschool term is from September 2012 to June 2013 with a Winter and Spring Break vacation.

Registration for preschool must be in person. Please bring your child's:

  • Birth Certificate
    Steveston's Preschool Class
  • Care Card
  • Immunization Record
  • Photo

Fees payable by Visa, MC, American Express or cheque are due at registration. An additional registration fee may be applied. Monthly post-dated payments for the remainder of the school year are accepted.

For all licensed preschools, children must turn the appropriate age by December 31, 2012.

Preschool - Rainbow - Licensed
This program provides an introduction to a variety of languages and cultures through a variety of fun, educational, theme-based activities that reflect our diverse community.

3 - 4 years T/Th 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.

Preschool - Moonbeams - Licensed
This program includes the following lesson sets: swimming, skating, tennis, gymnastics and other special programming on Fridays. Fee includes extra cost of activities and transportation.
*Parent participation days required.

Preschool - Salmonbellies Licensed
An enriched program that uses an emergent curriculum to introduce "Fun Family Phonics", art, music, literature, social responsibility and diversity.

4 years M/W/F 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
4 years M/W/F 12:15 - 2:45 p.m.

Preschool - Sunshine - Licensed
This program incorporates dance, drama, art and much more.

4 years *M-Th 12:15 - 2:45 p.m.

*This four day program incorporates an "activity" day, i.e. cooking, science experiments, adventures, sports, music, etc. Parent participation may be required on this day.

Twos Time
This program prepares children for preschool. Parents may or may not be required to attend. Parent duty days are mandatory.
