Fitness Centre
The centre consists of a cardio room with treadmills, elliptical trainers, step mill and more machines. In addition, there is a large stretching area, exercise balls and wobble boards. The weight room has Cybex strength equipment including a squat rack, smith machine, gravitron and free weights up to 90 lbs. Special equipment for post rehab and wheelchair participants is also available.

Fitness Centre Fees
South Arm Community Centre offers a number of options for accessing fitness programs, including paying a drop-in fee or purchasing a visit card or fitness centre pass, as well as offering programs for registration. See the Fitness Fees section for more information.
Orientation and other Services
Fitness Centre Orientation
This introduction, with a registered Personal Trainer, teaches proper techniques and safety for equipment use and fitness centre etiquette. Appointments are 15 to 30 minutes in length and free with any valid fitness pass.
Youth Orientation
Fitness Centre Orientations are mandatory for all youth. Please note: the minimum age requirement for use of the South Arm Fitness Centre is 13 years. As well, youth aged 13-17 years must have a parental consent form signed prior to Fitness Centre access

Group and Personal Training
All South Arm personal trainers have met or have exceeded the standards set out by the BCRPA, the provincial registration and governing association for fitness leaders in BC. The trainers are highly qualified and hold multiple national and international certifications with speciality training in various areas of health and fitness. Screening Forms
PAR-Q (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire for Everyone)
When you take part in any fitness activity at a City facility you will be asked to either complete a PAR-Q+, read the large poster version of the form, or to confirm you have completed the online version of the questionnaire. This form is designed to identify people for whom a change in physical activity may pose a risk.
Parental Consent Form
Youth aged 13-17 years of age must complete a youth orientation, demonstrate appropriate maturity level and have a parental consent form signed prior to Fitness Centre access.
