Facility Rentals

There are a variety of facilities that can be rented by the general public.  Whether you are planning a meeting, wedding, workshop or birthday party, there is a venue for rental that is suitable for your next event.

Below you will find a list of the many facilities and sites with a corresponding contact number.

Minoru Sports Pavilion  
Minoru  Park - 7191 Granville Avenue

  • Maximum capacity 160 with chairs in a theatre style or 120 with chairs and tables
  • Includes use of tables and chairs

Minoru Sport Pavilion is located in Minoru Park.  Rental includes a large multi-purpose room (upper hall) and is available Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays only.

Brighouse Park Meeting RoomsBrighouse Park Meeting Rooms
Brighouse Park - 7840 Granville Avenue

  • Room A – Maximum Capacity: 27
  • Room B – Maximum Capacity: 17
  • Room C – Maximum Capacity: 17
  • All rooms include use of tables, chairs and sink (no dishes).

Located south of City Hall, Brighouse Park is available for meetings. There are two rooms that hold up to 17 people and one that holds up to 27 people. This is a great place to  hold a meeting away from your work place.  Bookings can be made for meetings, workshops and training only.

McDonald Beach Boat Launch
McDonald Beach - 3500 McDonald Road

Yearly passes for McDonald Beach boat launching are available to Richmond residents. There is also a 50% discount on yearly passes for Richmond seniors (60 years and over). To apply for a pass contact the City Bylaws department at 604-276-4284.

Playing Field Reservations
Groups planning to use outdoor sports facilities must obtain a field use permit.  Regular sports groups should contact their local scheduler for times and availability.  For more information please visit the Sport Field Bookings page. 

Special Event Stage Rental
The City of Richmond has purchased a stage that is available for rent for public events. Please contact the City of Richmond's Rental Office directly at 604-233-3304 for more information.

The Minoru Chapel is available for weddings, memorials, baptisms, etc.

Outdoor Pools*

School Board Facilities
The Richmond School District encourages community use of Board-owned facilities by both the general public and City affiliated groups. Facilities are available for classes, meetings, children's birthday parties and sporting events.

Important Information for all user groups: Groups requiring a specific date or dates for a special event must submit a letter to the Secretary Treasurer of the Richmond School District six months in advance of event date.

Community Centres
Cambie Community Centre
The Cambie Community Centre has on-site rooms that are available for rent -  Multipurpose Rooms and the Board Room. The East Richmond Community Hall is off-site and is available for rent.

  • $20.00 per hour plus HST 
  • $50.00 damage deposit

Board Room

  • Maximum capacity: 10-15 
  • $20.00 per hour plus HST

 East Richmond Community Hall - 12360 Cambie Road

  • Maximum capacity: 120 
  • $350.00/up to 8 hours plus HST, $25.00 each additional hour over 8 hours (Set up and take down not included in event time) 
  • $350.00 damage/cleaning deposit 
  • Use of kitchen, tables and chairs

Special events liability insurance is required. Minimum liability must be $2,000,000 and the City of Richmond and the East Richmond Community Association must be named as additional insured. Liquor License and SOCAN fees may be required.

Minoru Place Activity Centre - 7760 Minoru Gate
Please note: Minoru Seniors Society operates a commercial kitchen on site and all catering requests must be approved by the Food Services Coordinator. Any outside catering must have approval from the Minoru Seniors Board of Directors.

Prices do not include catering.

Banquet Room/Saturday evenings only

  • Maximum capacity: 180 sitting/120 dancing
  • $350.00/event + $350 damage deposit (6:00 - 11:00 p.m.)
  • Use of stage, piano, tables and chairs
  • Additional fees for set up / take down may apply

Special event liability insurance is required. Minimum liability must be $2,000,000 listing both the City of Richmond and the Minoru Seniors Society as additional insured. Liquor License and SOCAN fees may be required.

Sea Island Community Centre - 7140 Miller Road
Hall and Multipurpose Room

  • Maximum capacity: 90
  • $250/event + $325/damage deposit
  • Use of small kitchen (no stove) tables and chairs

Multipurpose Room

  • Maximum capacity: 30
  • $25 per hour + $100 damage deposit

Bookings can be made up to one year in advance. The Hall is available for rental on Saturdays and Sundays only. There is a Commissionaire on duty for all events. Call 604-238-8000 for information.

South Arm Community Centre - 8880 Williams Road
Rooms available for meetings or social functions $40 per hour plus HST. Call 604-718-8062 for more information

South Arm Community Hall - 9020 Williams Road

  • Maximum capacity: 200
  • $425 plus HST
  • Deposit $365-$500 plus HST based on assessed risk
  • Use of tables and chairs, kitchen (no dishes) and stage
  • Available Saturday evenings 6:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.

  • There is a Commissionaire on duty for all events

Bookings for the Community Hall can be made up to one year in advance. Call the Centre at 604-718-8062 for booking information, Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Steveston Community Centre - 4111 Moncton Street
Banquet Room

  • Available Saturday evenings only
  • Maximum capacity: 125
  • $272.45/event + $275 damage/cleaning deposit
  • Use of kitchen, tables and chairs

Special events liability insurance is required. Minimum liability must be $2,000,000 and the City of Richmond and the Steveston Community Society must be named as additional insured.

  • Available for meetings, workshops, and training
  • Maximum capacity: 20
  • $20.00 per hour plus tax

Board Room

  • Available for meetings, workshops, and training
  • Maximum capacity: 30
  • $30.00 per hour plus tax
  • Includes use of tables and chairs

A minimum of two weeks notice is required for new bookings.
