Preschools & Out of School Care

Preschools
Our preschools are designed to develop the whole child Intellectually, socially, physically, emotionally and cognitively. We provide a positive and encouraging learning environment where children of various cultures and backgrounds share and learn about each other.

All preschool registration requires in-person registration at the facility requested. When registering, please bring your child's:

  • Birth Certificate
  • BC Care Card
  • Immunization record

Fees are payable by cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or cheque and are due at the time of registration. An additional registration fee may be applied. Monthly post-dated payments for the remainder of the school year are accepted.

The preschool term is from September 2009 through June 2010 with a winter and spring break vacation. Licensed preschools have qualified ECE preschool instructors. All licensed preschools require that children must turn appropriate age by December 31, 2009.

Registration for the 2009/2010 school year is on going in all facilities. Preschool viewing times are available, please call the facility located in your area for details and times.

Our program is play-based preschool offering a variety of learning materials and experiences. Our goal is to provide a safe and happy environment for each child to foster the development of an independent life-long learner, creative thinker and problem solver.

The 4 year old program includes a special activity day once a week that may include creative movement, music, gymnastics, drama, science, cooking and sports such as soccer, tennis, skating and golf. All costs and transportation are included in the monthly fee.

Kindercare & Out-of-School Care

Community Associations hire coordinators to facilitate quality licensed school age care for children 5-12yrs.

Our Kindercare and Out-of-School Care programs are staffed by energetic and creative instructors that support children in a fun and nurturing environment. All programs adhere to government regulations and work closely with Richmond Health Services.

For 2009/2010 registration, refer to a facility in your area. In person registration is required for all Kindercare and Out-of-School Care programs. Registration is ongoing.

Cambie Community Centre

Out-of-School Care provides care for students of McNeely, Mitchell, Sidaway, Tait, Talmey and Tomsett schools. Program includes transportation to and from school and an afternoon snack. Registration is ongoing.

We also provide care for Pro-D Days, Regular Early Dismissal Days and Seasonal Break Programs on a drop-in basis. Call 604-233-8376 for more information.

Hamilton Community Centre

South Arm Community Centre 

Coordinator: Justin Lieu
Kindercare is located at South Arm Hall. Transportation is provided from Bridge, Debeck, Maple Lane, Walter Lee and Whiteside schools.

School Age Care programs are located at South Arm Community Centre and South Arm Hall. The program provides care for students of Bridge, DeBeck, Walter Lee, Maple Lane and Whiteside.

All programs include transportation to and from school, professional days and early dismissals. Breakfast is provided daily in morning care and a snack is provided daily in aftercare daily. Call 604-718-8078 for more information.

West Richmond Community Centre 
Childcare Director: Gina Ho
Kindercare and Out-of-School Care provide care for students of Gilmore, Dixon, Quilchena and Manoah Steeves. Call 604-718-8400 for information.
All programs include: breakfast, afternoon snack, professional and early dismissal days, winter break, spring break and transportation to and from school.

Kindercare and Junior OSC are located at West Richmond Community Centre. Junior OSC offers age appropriate activities, which have an emphasis on transition to the older Gilmore Program. OSC is located at Gilmore Elementary School.
