Nature Park

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers play an important role at the Nature Park assisting with educational programs, special events and park operations. Volunteer birdwatchers and botanists add to bio-inventory databases.  For current Nature Park opportunities, check out the Volunteer Richmond website.

Weekend Volunteers wildlife garden
Weekend volunteers assist with maintenance and park conservation projects which often include the cutting and removal of invasive shrubs and application of bark mulch to wet or uneven areas.

Weekend volunteers may also assist with programs and special events such as Slugfest or Wild Things.

Wildlife Garden Volunteers
Volunteers are involved in the development, planting and maintenance of this garden, which demonstrates designs and practices to provide habitats for wildlife. Volunteer work may include watering, weeding and preparation of the garden beds.
