Partners for Beautification

Sponsorship Through Donations

As Partners for Beautification for the City of Richmond, individuals, groups, foundations, associations, service clubs, schools, businesses and corporations have an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of the community of Richmond. The sponsorship through donations program allows the opportunity for private, corporate and community groups to participate in adoption programs in several ways:

  • Sponsorship or donation of any of the "adoptable" features of the Partners for Beautification Program, examples include construction of staging areas or boardwalks, trails, new park development, trail signage.
  • Sponsorship of clean-up equipment for the community to use in park, street or other adoption activities
  • Donation of park assets (tree, bench, picnic table)
  • Providing funds for volunteers recognition/gifts for volunteers
  • Donation of plant materials/trees for use in adoption programs

Adoption through sponsorship can be an effective marketing tool for your organisation to receive exposure in the community. Responsible businesses and organizations are encouraged to participate in the Partners for Beautification Program. Charitable tax receipts will be issued for significant donations.

Tree, Bench, & Picnic Table Donation Program

About the Program

The City of Richmond's Donation Tree, Bench, and Picnic Table program was introduced in February 1991 and was adopted by Council in March of 2003. The program allows community members to dedicate an existing bench or table in one of Richmond's parks or open space systems. These dedications allow friends and families to memorialize or recognize loved ones while simultaneously contributing to the enhancement of Richmond's parks and open space system. Thanks to the contribution of these donations there are over 400 benches and 40 tables within our parks to date.
