Cranberry Sale at the Richmond Nature Park

5 October 2010

The Richmond Nature Park will hold its annual fresh Cranberry Sale on Saturday, October 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bulk local cranberries will be available while quantities last.

The crimson glory of Richmond is the cranberry. A “miracle fruit” that grows only in bogs, it puts Richmond on the map as the Cranberry Capital of Canada. The berries are rich in vitamins and loaded with beneficial elements. Their tart flavour adds zest to your baking and cooking and the colour can’t be beat. Cranberries will keep fresh in the fridge for weeks and are practically indestructible in the freezer.

The Cranberry Sale will take place in the parking lot of the Richmond Nature Park, located at 11851 Westminster Highway between Number 5 Road and Shell Road.

The Richmond Nature Park is the last undisturbed remnant of Richmond’s bogs. The park specializes in educational programs that teach children about the bog, its unique community of life and its place in the community of Richmond. Proceeds from the Cranberry Sale support educational programs and enable the Richmond Nature Park Society to continue its environmental work.
