Richmond Offers Unique 2010 Games Keepsake – Olympic Street Banners
16 March 2010
The City of Richmond is offering a unique opportunity to own a limited edition piece of Olympic history – authentic Olympic street banners actually displayed in Richmond and viewed by millions around the world.
Beginning in April, Richmond, an official Venue City for the 2010 Olympic Games, will offer for sale almost 600 pairs of street banners which were displayed on street lighting fixtures throughout the City’s downtown core, gateways, the O Zone celebration site and Richmond Olympic Oval precinct.
Premium banners display the distinctive blue and green Look of the 2010 Games design. They will be sold in pairs for $250/pair. Banners with a light outline of the Look of the Games and the words Vancouver 2010 and Richmond will sell in pairs for $150/pair. The Paralympic single banners are $125 each. All banners are 203 by 81 centimetres (80 by 32 inches) in size.
As well, over 80 sets of decorative fabric fence wrap panels, with the Look of the 2010 Games design, are available for purchase for $300 per panel. Each panel measures 12 by 2.4 metres (40 by 8 feet.)
Graphics illustrating the banners and fence wrap sections are available as a PDF on the City’s website at www.richmond.ca/discover/2010-Olympics/banner.htm or printed copies are available at Customer Service at City Hall, located at 6911 No. 3 Road.
Orders are being taken now and the banners will be available in late April 2010. To request an order or obtain more information, please contact the City’s Parks department at 604-244-1208. Don’t delay as the banners are expected to sell out quickly.
