Dream Project Seeking Budding Young Filmmakers

Dream Project, the first Youth Film Outreach Program in Richmond is offering a one-of-a-kind opportunity for youths interested in film and animation. This project will give students hands-on experience and training in professional filmmaking, animation and multimedia art installation techniques.
The Dream Project is an innovative community outreach of the New Asia Film Festival. The objectives are to enhance filmmaking and storytelling skills of the youth of Richmond as well as celebrate their power of imagination and creativity by working with professional filmmakers and media artists.
The target age group of the project is nine to 19-years-old. The filmmaking workshop will run from July 5 to 16 at the Richmond Cultural Centre, and cover techniques of traditional story telling, live performance, digital video production, and computer 3D technology. An outdoor celebration and exhibition of the films by students will be held at the end of July. The cost for the two-week workshop is $20 per student.
This project is co-presented by the City of Richmond and Cinevolution Media Arts Society, and is sponsored by the BC Arts Council, 2010 Legacies Now, Canadian Heritage, and Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Development Agreement.
