Enhanced Smoking Regulations For Customer Service Areas - Effective March 31, 2009

Please be aware that additional amendments to the City’s Public Health Protection Bylaw No. 6989, adopted by Council on May 12, 2008, come into effect on March 31, 2009:
  • No smoking will be permitted inside or within 6 metres of customer service areas.
  • For the purposes of this Bylaw, customer service areas are defined as partially enclosed or unenclosed areas, including balconies, patios, yards or sidewalks, associated with a licensed establishment or any other business that includes the consumption of food or drinks on site.
  • There are also amendments to the required signage that should be posted by building and business owners.
