Smile Richmond, You’re on Camera!
12 June 2009Enter your favourite Richmond photos in the competition and you can win one of eight Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 digital cameras.
Winning photos will become part of a new Richmond postcard series, which will be sent around the world to invite visitors to Richmond for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
A selection of winning photos and other entries will also be published in the Richmond Review. The competition is presented by Tourism Richmond and the City of Richmond.
“This is a great way for people to be creative and show off their pride in our beautiful and diverse community and help us promote Richmond to the world,” said Mayor Malcolm Brodie.
Entries are being sought in eight categories:
- Nature
- Richmond at Play
- Richmond Olympic Oval
- Multicultural
- Steveston/Heritage
- Art
- Business
- Sport
“We’re challenging photographers to be imaginative in coming up with photos that capture the spirit of what it means to live, work and play in Richmond and that we can share with the world to show them why they should visit here in 2010 or any other time,” said Tracy Lakeman, Executive Director, Tourism Richmond.
Contest entries will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on July 31, 2009. Entrants may only submit one entry per category. Complete rules are available at allinrichmond.com/picture or at Richmond City Hall, 6911 No. 3 Road. Please ensure all rules are read carefully before submitting to ensure your entry is accepted.
