Richmond Photo Contest Entry Deadline Extended

July 8, 2009

The entry deadline has been extended for Richmond’s Picture It photo contest.

The City of Richmond and Tourism Richmond would like to thank everyone who has participated in the Picture It photo contest. However, due to a technical problem that occurred with the content database, entries received between June 12 and 25 are missing contact information.

Although only a limited number of entries have been affected, those entries must be resubmitted in order to qualify for the contest. All participants who entered between June 12 and 25 are encouraged to resubmit.

To ensure all entrants have an equal chance to participate and win, the contest deadline has been extended to July 31, 2009. Entries can be submitted at allinrichmond.com/picture.

Winning photos will become part of a new Richmond postcard series, which will be sent around the world to invite visitors to Richmond for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

A selection of winning photos and other entries will be published in the Richmond Review. Contestants can also win one of eight Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 digital cameras.

Entries are being sought in eight categories:

  • Nature
  • Richmond at Play
  • Richmond Olympic Oval
  • Multicultural
  • Steveston/Heritage
  • Art
  • Business
  • Sport

Complete rules are available at allinrichmond.com/picture or at Richmond City Hall, 6911 No. 3 Road. Please ensure all rules are read carefully before submitting to ensure your entry is accepted.

And watch for more exciting news later this summer, when the new postcards will be launched, providing your friends and family from around the world the opportunity to win an exciting 2010 Olympic Winter Games experience and visit to Richmond.
