Cash Back Program Helps Groups Raise Funds and Raise Awareness for Richmond O Zone
04 December 2009
Local sport and community organizations now have the opportunity to generate additional revenue by helping promote the Richmond O Zone, the city’s official celebration site of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
By distributing information on the Richmond O Zone hospitality packages, currently on sale, across their membership and contacts, an organization can earn back five percent of the value of the total sales resulting in that distribution.
“We saw it as a unique and effective way to spread the word about the fabulous celebrations planned for the Richmond O Zone while benefitting local organizations during tough economic times,” said Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie. “It’s an another opportunity to extend the benefits of our Venue City status and build upon the legacies of the Games.”
This idea was formed after discussions with the Richmond Sports Council on ways to engage the sport and general community during the Games. It provides local community and sporting organizations with an opportunity to use the Games and the Richmond O Zone as a means to generate additional funds and engage their members, while also providing an additional promotional arm for the O Zone in the community.
The process is simple. When completing order forms to purchase hospitality packages, customers would indicate which sport or community organization provided them with the information and forms. The greater the distribution and more detailed the information, the higher the chance of sales success for organizations.
The resulting sales will be tallied and funds earned donated back to the successful organizations in May 2010. Designed for corporate hosting, O Zone hospitality packages feature VIP access to the O Zone, with comfortable, heated viewing and reception lounge, plasma screens, licensed bar food and beverage options and more at affordable prices.
