2010 Olympic Winter Games Emergency Exercises in Richmond
30 October 2009The City of Richmond would like to advise residents of an upcoming live-action emergency planning exercise.
On Tuesday, November 3 residents may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles in Richmond. First responders will participate in an exercise to practice their skills at a mock emergency situation.
The exercise is a component of Exercise Gold, which serves to confirm federal, provincial, regional and municipal organizations are prepared to respond in a coordinated manner to any emergency that may occur during the 2010 Winter Games.
The exercise will be staged in two locations and will involve a range of participants including first responders and community volunteers acting as casualty victims. The locations are:
- former Steveston High School, 10440 No. 2 Road
- Richmond Hospital, 7000 Westminster Highway
