Watermania Offers Healthier Food Choices in Vending Machines

18 July 2008

The public now has a choice when it comes to making healthier food choices at Richmond’s Watermania. This move towards healthier food and beverage options is part of a growing British Columbia trend in schools, public buildings and now recreation facilities.

The public is invited to the official launch of Watermania’s new vending options.
Date: Thursday, July 24, 2008
Time: 9:00 a.m. to noon
Location: Watermania, 14300 Entertainment Blvd.
Taste test the new food options, learn about healthy eating, suggest what healthy products should be made available and vie for some great prizes.

Watermania began offering healthier vending choices in fall 2007. Since July 1, 2008, the number of healthy food and beverage options has increased to include milk, bottled water, 100 per cent fruit juices, baked chips and granola bars. Steveston Community Centre also changed over to healthier vending options in March of this year.
