U-ROC Awards Conclude Richmond’s Youth Week

On Thursday, May 8, Richmond will host the 11th annual U-ROC (Richmond Outstanding Community) Youth Awards.
Date: Thursday, May 8, 2008
Time: 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Location: Gateway Theatre, 6500 Gilbert Road
Admission: Free
Exceptional individuals will be acknowledged for their contributions to youth and their community.

121 Awards will be presented for:
  • Youth who have contributed to the community
  • Youth Groups for contributions they have made to others, their community or the environment
  • Asset Champions which include Adult Mentors and Youth Friendly Richmond Business who have demonstrated dedication and commitment to inspiring, mentoring and making a difference in the lives of youth

“The U-ROC awards help to spotlight some of Richmond’s individuals and organizations that have had significant positive influences on youth development over the past year,” explains Mayor Malcolm Brodie. “We are thrilled to recognize those who have provided the supports youth need to be healthy, caring and responsible people.”
