2009 Street Banner Contest - Call for Entries

As part of an ongoing City beautification initiative, the Parks Department is calling for entries for the 2009 Street Banner Contest.

This year’s contest theme is "The Sustainable Future of our City" and up to eight new designs will be selected from Richmond residents of all ages, including school children, teens, adults and seniors. The contest has proven to be a great way for the community to share their love of Richmond through art and design.

All entries must be original, unmanipulated photographs in either digital or printed format. Examples may include images reflecting the following sustainability pillars:
  • Environment (e.g. local agriculture, native plants and animals, public art)
  • Social (e.g. sports, community festivals and fairs, culture and heritage)
  • Economic (e.g. transportation, architecture, local attractions)

Winning banners will be on display between March 2009 and December 2009.

CD/DVD contest entries can be mailed to:

Submission deadline is October 31, 2008.
