The Airport Noise Citizens Advisory Task Force, created by City Council to improve the current process for addressing concerns about airport and aircraft noise, is holding two meetings in January and February 2009 to gather public input.
Meetings are scheduled:
Date: Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. - noonLocation: Richmond City Hall, 6911 No. 3 Road
Meeting Room M.2.004
The task force, comprised of nine citizens appointed by Council, held their first meeting in September. Their primary goal is to hear specific concerns from Richmond citizens. From that, they are tasked with developing possible tangible solutions to better manage the noise and flight path issues affecting the City of Richmond and provide the corresponding recommendations to Council by summer 2009.
For those who want to provide input but can’t attend either meeting, an on-line comment form on the City’s website will be available at richmond.ca (Public Safety > Environmental Health > Noise).
Update: The deadline for submitting comments online has been extended to February 17, 2009.
