Richmond Mayor to Present 2010 Plans at Chamber Lunch
12 February 2008Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie will discuss the City’s celebration site plan for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and other proposed 2010 programs at a special Richmond Chamber of Commerce luncheon today. As an Official Venue City, Richmond will be home to the speed skating competition during the 2010 Games. Mayor Brodie will be sharing information about:
- Richmond’s “O Zone,” a proposed city-wide festival for Olympic-themed celebrations during the Games.
- Proposed programs to assist local business maximize opportunities during the 17 days of the Games.
- Potential impacts of Games operations on Richmond businesses.
He will also provide an update on the Richmond Oval which is set to open this fall. For more information about the event, please call the Richmond Chamber office at 604-278-2822. The City of Richmond will also be holding a Public Information Open House about the proposed O Zone Celebration Site on Wednesday, February 13 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at South Arm Community Centre.
