Recycling, Garbage Collection Slowed by Snow
The heavy snowfall over the weekend and Wednesday’s forecasted snow is impacting garbage and recycling service. Some homeowners will find that collection times may be later than usual, or, in some cases, delayed to the following day.
The following is in effect during the week of December 22 to December 27:
City garbage service will continue per the 2008 collection schedule, although conditions are slowing our service delivery and collection times may be later than usual.
For residents with City blue box service with regularly scheduled pickup on Monday or Tuesday, recycling crews are attempting to collect materials. However, we do not expect to be able to service all areas with recycling pickup. If your recycling is not collected by the end of the day Tuesday, (Dec. 23) please hold your recycling materials and place out the following week. Crews will collect extra materials at that time as weather conditions are expected to improve.
Blue Box recycling service is cancelled for residents with recycling collection services regularly scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday. Please hold your recyclables until the following week; crews will collect extra materials at that time.
Residents in multi-family complexes with recycling cart service will have their recycling collected, although collection times may be impacted or delayed to the following day.
Yard trimmings service is also cancelled and will be resumed next week.
