Earth Day Celebration 2008 - Be Green

Earth Day is celebrated worldwide as a collective expression to create healthy, sustainable communities. Celebrate the spirit of Earth Day at the following events:

The East Richmond Community Association invites you to celebrate Earth Day:
Date: Saturday, April 19, 2008
Time: 12:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Location: King George Park Gathering Place, 12360 Cambie Rd.
Admission: Free
This free family event will have a participatory drum circle, performances by Zox of the Forest, family activities, exhibits, demonstrations and more!

Everyone is encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or donate dollars for a hamburger, with proceeds supporting the Richmond Food Bank.

Participate in the Earth Day celebration at Terra Nova Rural Park:
Date: Saturday, April 26, 2008
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Location: Terra Nova Rural Park, 2431 Westminster Highway
Admission: Free
Tree and shrub planting will take place in the park from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Organic food, live music, arts and crafts, exhibits and demonstrations, Sharing Farm tours and a solar powered road show will available for everyone’s enjoyment from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool to the event. Call 604-276-4300 to register for Earth Day bike trips to this celebration.
