Richmond Seniors Invited to Wellness Fair

Research proves it and common sense agrees, active and connected seniors enjoy a considerably better quality of life, while reducing community healthcare costs.

“Our healthy seniors population is an important contributor to Richmond being the healthiest city in Canada,” says Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie.

Activate! Wellness Fair for Seniors is an annual opportunity for seniors to explore what’s new to protect and improve all aspects of personal health and wellness.
Date: Wednesday, June 4, 2008
Time: 9:30 a.m.
Location: MInoru Activity Centre, Minoru Plaza, Richmond Cultural Centre
Admission: Free
The fair is organized by City of Richmond Seniors Services as a part of National Seniors Week Celebrations taking place city wide June 2 to 6.

Seniors Living Safely is the theme of this year’s Activate! Wellness Fair for Seniors, a day long health promotion event which includes:
  • an information fair with more than 30 community service providers and vendors
  • a wellness clinic offering free blood pressure monitoring and free mini-spa treatments
  • a 55+ games tournament with Go, Xiang Qi, Western Chess and Backgammon
  • free snacks, fantastic door prizes and much more

Activate! Wellness Fair for Seniors offers free shuttle bus transportation operating from Richmond Community Centres. Seniors Week program brochures and free transportation schedules are currently available at all Richmond Community Centres.
