Public Feedback Sought on 2010 Celebration Plan

28 January 2008

What will you be doing during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games? The City of Richmond is considering a proposal to create a major Celebration Site in Richmond City Centre. The Celebration Site would be a nightly free family festival for the duration of the Games, which could feature live broadcasts of 2010 Games competition on giant screens, live music and other performances, athlete and celebrity appearances, an outdoor ice rink, river based entertainment, local artist showcases, retail marketplaces, special effects shows, children and adult educational programs and more

The City is inviting the public to learn more about the proposed Celebration Site and to provide your feedback. There will be a number of opportunities to offer your feedback:

  • Public Open House on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. at South Arm Community Centre.
  • Information display and roving survey takers will also be at the Richmond Winter Festival on February 8 and 9.
  • Information display and survey forms will be available at Richmond City Hall from February 11-15, 2008.
