Set-Out Times for Yard and Garden Trimmings Collection

When placing yard and garden trimmings out for curbside collection, please comply with the following guidelines as per City of Richmond Bylaw 6803:

  • Place trimmings at the curbside no earlier than 8:00 p.m. the night before collection
  • Ensure trimmings are at the curbside by 8:00 a.m. on the day of collection

Please do not place trimmings out early, as we want to maintain a pleasant streetscape appearance. If you use a landscape company, please ask that they store the trimmings in a location on your property that is not visible from the roadway.

The City of Richmond collects yard and garden trimmings in clear plastic bags or tied bundles (three feet by two feet) from all single-family homes. Yard and garden trimmings are collected the same day as garbage collection by a separate collection truck.

Yard and garden trimmings can also be delivered to:

Ecowaste
Triangle Road off the south foot of No. 6 Road
(no charge to Richmond residents)
Open seven days a week
Call 604-277-1410 for operating hours

City’s Recycling Depot
5555 Lynas Lane (close to River Road)
(no charge to Richmond residents under one cubic yard amount)
Open Wednesday to Sunday from 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
(closed on Statutory Holidays)

Commercial landscapers can drop-off yard and garden trimmings at the above listed locations or at Fraser Richmond Soil and Fibre on No. 8 Road (call 604-220-2385 for operating hours) at the prevailing rates.
