One Day Speed Skating Clinic Offered to Community
13 September 2007Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to learn about speed skating and how you can become involved as an official or volunteer at upcoming events – and receive your Level 1 Officials certification.
The Richmond Rockets Speed Skating Club is pleased to host the Level 1 Officials Clinic on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Richmond City Hall.
“This is a great opportunity for everyone in the community to learn the basics about speed skating and officiating competitions. It’s a sport that anyone can enjoy and entire families can participate in,” says Sue Spencer, President for the Richmond Rockets Speed Skating Club.
The one-day program will take place

6911 No. 3 RoadCost: Registration fees are $15 for the general public and $5 for BC Speed Skating Association members.
- Learn about the officials role at competitions and how speed skating competitions run.
- Learn about volunteer opportunities at upcoming training and test events leading up to the 2010 Olympic Games.
- Receive certification for the Level 1 Clinic, having only to assist at a few meets to receive full Level 1 certification
- Receive a Level 1 Officials Manual
- See presentations about the Richmond Oval and long track speed skating.
