Call for Spectators and Volunteers

Richmond’s First Ever Speed Skating Competition - Saturday, November 2, 2007
Spectators and volunteers are needed for Richmond’s first ever Speed Skating event. This exciting Speed Skating Interclub Competition will be held: 
Date: Saturday, November 10, 2007
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Location: Minoru Arenas
7551 Minoru Gate
This Provincial competition, hosted by the Richmond Rockets Speed Skating Club, in conjunction with the Vancouver Speed Skating Club, will feature:
  • Over 150 Short Track Speed Skaters from BC and the USA
  • Approximately 20 skaters from the host club, Richmond Rockets
  • Co-ed competitors ranging from as young as five-years-old to the Masters category of 50-plus year-old skaters

The competition is a qualifier for the Juvenile (12 & 13 years) and Junior (14 & 15 years) skaters for the BC Winter Games located in Kimberly, BC in February 2008.

Richmond Rockets is a registered club of the British Columbia Speed Skating Association. It has regular ice time at Richmond Ice Centre on Fridays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The Richmond Rockets club currently has over 50 members and is growing rapidly.
