Richmond’s “Green” Hamilton Fire Hall Official Opening

Don’t miss this opportunity to look inside one of Richmond’s newest and most environmentally-friendly fire halls, meet your local fire-rescue personnel, and take part in a community Kite Festival!

Richmond Fire-Rescue and the Hamilton Community Association invite you to take part in the official opening of the Hamilton Fire Hall on:

Date: Saturday, March 31, 2007
Time: 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Location: Hamilton Fire Hall
located at 22451 Westminster Highway

In addition to the official ribbon-breaking ceremony at noon, there will be fun-filled and informative activities for your entire family.

You can take a guided tour of the fire hall and see the state of the art sustainable “green” features designed to designate this fire hall as a Gold rated LEED® building – an international standard of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

Watch exciting rescue demonstrations on the 60 foot hose-drying tower and meet Fire-Rescue’s partners in safety - the Richmond RCMP and BC Ambulance Service, who will be onsite with vehicles and helpful safety information.

There is also a an exhibit of children’s posters, “What the fire department means to me,” all of which qualify for prizes drawn.

The entire event is free, however, the kite making and flying festival requires pre-registration and costs $2.50 per kite kit.
