Over 150 music artists will be participating in this 24-hour, seven-continent concert series. An eclectic mix of performers like The Police, Madonna, Bon Jovi, Kanye West, Shakira, and Keith Urban will bring more than 2 billion people together to engage in a global movement to combat the climate crisis.

Live Earth begins in Sydney, Australia on July 7, 2007 and continues across all seven continents, with events in Tokyo, Japan; Shanghai, China; Hamburg, Germany; Johannesburg, South Africa; London, United Kingdom; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, before the grand finale in New York, United States, which will be shown on big screens at City Hall.

The concert will kick off a multi-year campaign to motivate individuals, corporations and governments to take action to solve climate issues. The City of Richmond constantly strives to be a more sustainable city with hopes the concert inspires environmental behavioural changes in residents in this community and all across the Lower Mainland.
