Richmond Fire-Rescue Holds Information Sessions to Launch Spring Hiring Campaign

If you are looking for an exciting career in fire fighting, look no further than the City of Richmond. We are currently looking for men and women who emulate the City’s values - Belief in People, Pursuit of Excellence, Quality Leadership, the Power of Team, and Innovation.

The Richmond Fire-Rescue Department will be hiring up to 20 fire fighters to start in the fall of 2007 and all applicants will be considered.

In order to ensure all applicants are aware of the requirements and process, we invite those interested to attend one of two upcoming information sessions. Everyone is welcome to the information session, and we encourage women and visible minorities to attend.

The information sessions are being held on Tuesday, April 10 and Wednesday, April 11, 2007 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Richmond Secondary School in the Multi-Purpose Room, located at 7171 Minoru Blvd, Richmond, BC. Parking is available behind Richmond Secondary, Minoru Park & Brighouse Park. Seating will be limited to 300 people per session and will be on a first come basis.

Attending one of the sessions is not a requirement to making an application. In order to be considered for this competition, you must submit, by 5 p.m. on April 19, 2007, your resume, completed revised Fire Fighter Application Form, and quote Competition #2007-F-03. Feel free to bring your resume package the night of the information session.

The revised Fire Fighter Application Form, as well as complete details of job requirements and benefits are also located on the City of Richmond website at www.richmond.ca/safety/firerescue.

Only those who are short-listed will be contacted to participate in this recruitment process, however, applications will be kept on file for a one year period.
